Title: Design Assistant
Joined STRITE design + remodel: 2019
“Everyone is unique in the remodel challenges they face. What I try to focus on is how a person feels within a space.”
As a self-described “design team resource,” Samantha is responsible for gathering the initial input that initiates the STRITE design process. This includes taking measurements and notes on the space to be remodeled, listening to the concerns and objectives of homeowners, and providing initial drafting for the design team.
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Samantha liked to read about architecture, spatial design, and the challenges of adapting spaces to people. She remembers her very first design being a fort she wanted her parents to build for her. By the time she was 12, she was drawing pictures of apartment complexes. Her creative instincts led to a degree in interior design from San Jose State University. Samantha put her design career on hold while raising a family, and focused on education as a volunteer for public school art programs. Joining STRITE in July 2019 has enabled her to rekindle her earlier passion for design.
Why My Job Matters
“Having remodeled my own home, I know that everyone faces unique challenges within their own design and remodel process. As a resource to our design team, I keep careful account of site-specific information that helps the design process go from inception to the full realization of our clients designs. I find what I do to be captivating and fun…and it’s great to work for a company where everyone is happy to show up on a Monday morning.”
