“My role is to serve as a conduit between a client’s needs and their realization through the intermediary of design. At its heart, Strite is a construction company; but being able to develop a good idea without having to shop for a design makes the entire remodel process a more seamless one…and a more satisfying one for our clients. After many years of designing for the same types of lifestyle considerations, I’ve got a really good sense of what works and what doesn’t.”
Responsibilities
Michael is one of the first points of contact that clients have with Strite design + remodel. It’s his responsibility to meet with clients who are interested in a remodel project, assess the possibilities, present ideas, and then put together a “ballpark” budget for consideration. If the stars align, the next step is one where Michael truly excels: design.
Background
Michael brings a uniquely diverse range of personal and professional experiences to the Strite team and our clients, resulting in functional and inspiring architectural design. From the time he was a kid, Michael had a fascination with floor plans, and spent hours sketching his ideas. This fascination was reinforced when Michael’s family was stationed in Europe and he had the opportunity to marvel at the art and architecture that surrounded him. Motivated by the conviction that he wanted to pursue an artistic career, Michael earned a diploma in Architectural Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, followed by a Bachelors of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1996. He joined Strite just two years later.
When not working
Micheal loves skiing and camping with his family, enjoying music and supporting local business.
