Title: CEO
Joined STRITE design + remodel: 1992
“The remodeling process is a blend of vision, creativity, and hard work. Through problem solving and critical thinking we are able to achieve an end result that ultimately helps people feel more comfortable in their home.”
Responsibilities:
Matt started at Strite as a craftsman, then became a project manager, then production coordinator, and now holds the title of CEO. He has a deep appreciation for this company, the reputation that it holds, and the value it brings to its staff, clients, and the community. His goal is to establish and maintain processes that are efficient and work well for everyone. His focus is always on the customer experience and their level of satisfaction with not only the completed project, but with the process that realized it.
Background:
Matt grew up in a small desert town in California, two hours from San Diego and Palm Springs. It was a place he remembers as having had “2,500 people and seven golf courses.” It was also where Matt’s father (and former Strite president) Bob Mundy made his living as a general contractor. Not surprisingly, Matt remembers his earliest toys as 2×4 blocks. Following a vacation to Idaho, his parents decided to move to Boise, not only for its proverbial “quality of life,” but also for the opportunities they believed it would provide for their children. For Matt, those opportunities consisted largely of rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking…and working at Strite during summers. Following his initial stint with Strite, Matt started his own tile and remodeling company, and eventually rejoined Strite for the challenge that larger remodel projects offered.
When not working:
Matt loves to spend time with his wife, Laura, and their two kids. They enjoy being in the mountains – biking, camping, fishing, or finding a quiet stream to dip their toes in.
