Casee Miller
Title: Accountant
Joined STRITE design + remodel: 2015
“A lot of money is involved in what I do, and that’s very important in keeping our vendors focused and dedicated to our customers’ projects.”
Responsibilities
Although Casee’s job description says “administrative,” it encompasses accounting and IT as well. She has some big shoes to fill, since she is essentially taking over for an employee who has managed payroll, accounts payable, and receptionist duties for years. That employee also happens to be Casee’s mom.
Background
Casee comes from the Northern California town of Cool, just east of Sacramento in the Foothills of the Gold Country. She and her family relocated to Boise following the buy out of the framing company she had been working for in Rocklin, California, and the subsequent opportunity to take a position at the new owner’s corporate office. Casee’s knowledge of STRITE came from an ideal source: her mother — and when the company she had joined in Boise was itself purchased, she began helping with administrative tasks at STRITE on a part time basis. She eventually took over accounts payable and reception duties before adding IT functions to her job description.
Why My Job Matters
“I make sure that our jobs are profitable, that our vendors get paid, and that their insurance certificates are up to date…and I deposit money. A lot of money is involved in what I do, and that’s very important to making sure our vendors stay focused and dedicated to our customers’ projects.”
When Not Working
“I read a lot of books, and with a son in college and a daughter in high school, my husband and I are thinking more about what to do with our time. We recently did some remodeling on our home in Kuna. It was fun, and it really gave me an appreciation for what our customers experience with a whole home remodel. My latest hobby is a kitten we adopted from the Humane Society: a Siamese named Milo who is a talker and a trouble maker.”
